MATTEL introduces Barbie with Down Syndrome, furthers representation in the toy aisle

Mattel has added another jewel to Barbie's diversity crown by introducing the first Barbie with Down Syndrome. Working closely with the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), Mattel's move is a stride towards reducing social stigma and promoting inclusivity through play.

Everything about this new Barbie, from her sculpt to fashion and accessories, has been designed thoughtfully to mirror the unique traits of women with Down Syndrome. The doll even sports a dress patterned with butterflies and colored in yellow and blue, symbols associated with Down Syndrome awareness. In the toy aisle of inclusivity, Barbie is certainly leading the pack, pushing boundaries and promoting a more accepting world, one doll at a time.Watch the video here.
