AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL made an ad to denounce reversal of Roe vs Wade

As a protest against the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to nullify Roe vs Wade human rights organization Amnesty International in late June unveiled a digital ad portraying the sense of powerlessness felt by four young women who discover they are pregnant in an America where the federal guarantee of access to abortion services in all 50 states suddenly is no more.

Amnesty International’s spot asserts that the U.S. has consequently lost its claim to be the land of the free—a contention underscored by Norwegian artist Emilie Nicolas’ provocative interpretation of the "Star Spangled Banner." Since the reversal of Roe means that abortion is now a matter for each state to decide, the ad includes a pitch to sign a petition aimed at persuading state legislatures to pass laws preserving the right to abortion everywhere within their borders.
