DEGREE organizes metathon with DECENTRALAND

Degree took its first step (or first run, if you prefer) into the Metaverse by teaming up with Decentraland to organize a 26.2 virtual-mile marathon in which participants were empowered to outfit their chosen avatars with prostheses, running blades, and other wearables including wheelchairs. Called The Degree® Metathon™, the course led participants through some of the most iconic scenes in Decentraland's largest district, including the Vegas City Sports Quarter.

Located along the route was accessible architecture (featuring elements such as wheelchair ramps) to reflect a more inclusive landscape. Indeed, the whole idea behind the Metathon was to offer greater representation of people with disabilities and provide them with avatars that better reflected their unique identities.
