M&M's; melts in your mouth, not in your ears

The recent makeover of the M&M's mascots to give them a more inclusive appearance continued apace with the candy brand’s release of product packaging inspired by artwork adorning the covers of award-winning music albums. There’s one that riffs on rock-‘n’-roller David Bowie’s 1973 album “Aladdin Sane.” Another pays tribute to the 2018 country-and-western album from Kacey Musgraves, “Golden Hour.” A third M&M’s wrapper is emblazoned with the cover art from the album cut in 2017 by R&B artist H.E.R. (a.k.a. Gabriella Sarmiento Wilson). Finally, there is a packaging variant featuring the 2018 album “El Mal Querer” by Latin pop singer Rosalia Vila Tobella. The twist is that each star is replaced by an M&M’s mascot. The brand chose these particular albums because it felt they would do the best job of appealing to a diverse fanbase made up of people of different ages, ethnicities, and musical tastes.
