PEPSI and IHOP soda mashup

Marketing partners Pepsi and International House of Pancakes briefly served up a novelty cola formulated to convince those who imbibed it that a stack of fresh hot flapjacks was right within reach. The limited-edition Maple Syrup Cola was the star of Pepsi’s and IHOP’s March 24-29 #ShowUsYourStack social campaign. Here’s how it worked. Fans of the two brands were invited to post at Twitter and Instagram a tagged photo or video of a towering platterful of pancakes for a chance to be among 2,000 lucky winners of free Pepsi Maple Syrup Cola. One of those winners would be singled out to also receive a custom Pepsi spout inspired by the iconic syrup pitchers found tableside in IHOP restaurants. Although the sap ran well during the latest collection season in the world’s maple forests, only a small batch of Pepsi’s Maple Syrup Cola was produced—and exclusively for the campaign at that.
